Alternative therapies for scoliosis

Many modern approaches to scoliosis treatment can be disturbing and even dangerous procedures. First, an approach based on prevention is almost absent. According to the protocol, the patient (usually a girl in pre-adolescence or adolescence) is examined every few months to see if the scoliosis is progressing. If it does, treatments include electro-stimulation, exercises, large corsets, and surgery (different methods of spinal fusion, until metal bars go through the spine).

Chiropractors see scoliosis as a problem that is mainly caused by the impairment of the spinal column alignment and the application of pressure to the nerves passing through it. This changes the muscles on both sides of the spine and causes them to contract more on one side. As a result, they pull the spine to this side and scoliosis occurs.

There are many different approaches to the treatment of scoliosis in ciropractic. Tim Leasenby of Illinois says that in a method called Chiropractic Bio Physics (CBP), he analyzes the postural disorders of the spine, using spinal manipulations and exercise combinations to heal disorders. "The founder is a similar biomechanical method called Pettibone technique, named Burt Pettibon This method corrects specific disorders, including various types of scoliosis, which is the main purpose of almost all chiropractic types of spinal alignment to reduce the nerve palsy and restore normal muscle function to restore normal spine structure. "In most scoliosis cases, but usually the best results are taken as stopping the increase of the slope. This is even better choice than the more invasive methods of modern medicine. "

Scoliosis can be treated with acupuncture. Traditional Chinese medicine sees the inclination of the spinal cord as stagnation or blockage of the energy of the body, the energy called qi (chi), which stimulates the muscles and provides blood flow. This creates an imbalance between the two sides of the spinal column, causing the muscles to contract and the vertebra to curve to one side. The application of the acupuncture needles to the two sides of the spine usually balances the Qi and improves its alignment by allowing the spinal muscles to function more evenly. Sometimes the effect of treatment is increased by sending electrical stimuli from the needles.

Biomagnets can be used in conjunction with exercise, chiropractic and acupuncture therapy. Magnets have been reported to balance the muscle tone of placing the positive pole on one side of the pole and the negative pole on the other, effective in curing or stopping scoliosis. However, this procedure should only be done under the guidance of a qualified practitioner.

Dr. Leasenby says, "If treatment is applied, early diagnosis is important." I have been working at 9 and have had good results, so do not expect a small slope to worsen, take steps to prevent it and get much better results.
